1. General information
The objective of the subject is for students to carry out an in-depth work that requires the review, integration and implementation of diverse knowledge present in multiple previous subjects. Through this project, the student must demonstrate that they has developed the fundamental criteria of professional judgement and performance of a secondary school teacher.
These approaches and objectives are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations Agenda 2030 (https://www.un.org/sustainabledevelopment/es/), in such a way that the acquisition of the learning results of the subject provides training and competence to contribute to some extent to their achievement: Goal 4: Quality education.
2. Learning results
- Develop an academic work containing original contributions by applying the knowledge, skills, abilities, aptitudes and attitudes acquired throughout the master.
- Work autonomously and responsibly to achieve the proposed objectives.
- Critically evaluate their own work.
- Present their work, both orally and in writing, and defend it with order, clarity, argumentative rigor and linguistic correctness.
3. Syllabus
There is no specific program for the completion of a Master´s Final Project.
4. Academic activities
Directed work: 150h. 10% face-to-face
Presentation and oral defence of the work
The work of direction of the MFP will involve a continuous monitoring (with regular meetings) of the work done by the student ( ). The director will provide general guidelines on the nature and requirements of the type of work that they intends to carry out and will be responsible for the validation and supervision of the work´s process.
5. Assessment system
The MFP will be presented and defended before a board of three examiners of the area in a session of 30 minutes. The student will have a maximum of 15 minutes to present and argue their work. For the evaluation of the MFP and its defence, the Quality Assurance Committee will appoint a board of examiners composed of three members, following the general regulations of the University of Zaragoza. The director may be present during the defence and may speak when the student finishes their intervention and before the questions and observations of the board..
There are different modalities of MFP and the student may choose any of them within the period that will be indicated in due time:
Mode A. This is a flexible modality in which various types of papers are accepted, including activity designs , studies of topics or problems related to the teaching or curriculum of Social Sciences or personal teaching projects . The formats and requirements for modality A papers will be published on the subject website and will be discussed in monographic meetings with the students.
Modality B. This modality consists of an original work of educational research or innovation integrated in one of the lines proposed by the Master's faculty for the different specialties and approved by the Master's Quality Assurance Committee . In November, the proposals for research lines approved by the Guarantee Commission for that academic year will be published.
The board will make an overall evaluation of the work, its presentation and defence, reaching a single grade through consensus by means of the procedure it deems appropriate. It will be evaluated from 0 to 10, and may be awarded Honours in accordance with the regulations of the University of Zaragoza. Following the indications of the verification report, the presentation and defence will represent 20% of the final grade of the MFP.
In accordance with the evaluation regulations of the University of Zaragoza, after the review, the student may request that the grade obtained be revised by means of a reasoned written claim. The claim will be processed in accordance with established regulations.
In the event that the grade is lower than five, the board of examiners, at the student´s request, will point out the mistakes, indicating the modifications that need to be made to the work or to a new defence.
Finally, it must be taken into account that the Regulations of the Rules of Coexistence of the University of Zaragoza will be applicable to irregularities committed in the evaluation tests through academic fraud, as well as the application of article 30 of the Regulations of the Rules of Evaluation of Learning in relation to irregular practices other than academic fraud.
